a journey to the past
Olive-growing tradition since Roman times
They say that a good story is one that we never want to end; ours, despite dating back several centuries, has only just begun.
We could start by telling you that the land where we are today was once part of the Roman city of Singilia Barba, located northwest of Antequera. Today, at Finca la Torre, you can still appreciate these roots, exposed in the form of ruins (columns and parts of the oil mill or torcularium) at the main entrance.
During the Nasrid period, the Arabs would build the watchtower, which gives us the name Finca la Torre del Cerro del Cuchillo, due to the unique shape of the hill on which it was erected.
After several owners, in 1998 it became known as Finca la Reja SL, due to the merger of ASI Global and Rapunzel Ibérica S.L. By then, a first two-phase extraction line would be installed and 104 hectares of intensive olive groves would be planted. At the same time, organic and biodynamic certifications are obtained.
the new project
In 2010 it was acquired by Agrifutura Holding AG with the goal of producing one of the best extra virgin olive oils in the world. To achieve this, essential changes were made, replacing obsolete machinery and incorporating a new technical team.
After several years of multiple national and international recognitions, in 2014 the second phase of the project was completed by expanding the oil mill, and a new commercial department was created, allowing for the growth and consolidation of the brand.
Currently, Finca la Torre is present in 25 countries and exclusively exports 50 tons of organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil per year.
